Thinking About Nothing

So recently I’ve been thinking and I noticed something.  When you space out are you still thinking?  What constitutes thinking?  Is it a conversation with yourself? Or a something dreamlike?  Because sometimes i feel like i get these long absences of internal conversations with myself but as soon as I notice them I start thinking which makes me confused.

What about when you are listening to music.  Right now I’m listening to Itunes Library and I sometimes stop typing and sit, just sit, I mean it’s taken me about 10 minutes to get this far but I don’t recall what I was thinking about.

As to the title of this entry, from a philosophical stand point it can mean thinking about the concept of nothingness and empty space or it can mean thinking about nothing like not thinking at all but then that concept can also be philosophical when you think about it.

Aaaaaagh This type of thinking just makes me confused.

Day 4

Favorite Book Series

My favorite books are the Lord of the Rings trilogy + the prequel to them all the Silmarillion.  I am a ScyFy geek at heart and Science Fiction is my favorite genre.  I believe LotR is the gold standard of Science Fiction.

Day 3

Favorite TV Show!!!!!!!!!!!

I love TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I don’t get to watch TV as I would like because I’m not home that much during the course of the day and while I am at home typing this I am nowhere near one of the TVs in my house… :(  I like to watch sports and other stuff when I get the chance to watch TV and I watch American Idol religiously BUT my favorite TV show has to be Sean Hannity’s America, he speaks the truth and I wholeheartedly agree with everything he says- haha nope! just kidding.  Don’t. Watch. Or. Care. For. Sean Hannity. At all.

My favorite TV show is the Colbert Report.  As President of the Colbertnation of NPHS of course it would be.  Stephen is hilarious, intelligent, irreverent, and above all else sometimes it makes sense.  He gets incredible people to appear on his show, Oprah caliber guests, and they bring awareness or promote whatever cause they support.  And he won a Peabody Award.

Dudududududududay 2!

Mah Favorite Movie

Okay, this is a tough one.  I love watching movies there are a lot of movies I love and there are a lot of fantastic movies that I have seen.  However, because I have to pick one I will pick Hot Fuzz. I’m not saying it is the best movie ever but it is a movie I can watch any time and it won’t get old.  If you haven’t seen it I suggest getting on that and watching it.  It is not meant to be a Citizen Cane, Casablanca caliber movie but for a “B movie” it is really good and really funny.

Tumblr Challenge Day 1

It took a while but I decided to get on board with the tumblr thing.

Anyway, day 1 is my favorite song…….

 And I choose….

Santeria by Sublime.  There are many songs that I hear that I love and love listening to but this song has always been in my favorites.  It is a fantastic song with heartfelt and emotional vocals and you can hear the pain in Brad Knowell’s (the lead singer) voice.  It isn’t uplifting, however, it is powerful and has expressed how I have felt on many a tough and sad occasion.  The emotions are easy to grasp if you know the background of Sublime and how Bradley Knowell died of a heroin overdose before the major labor debut of their first album.  In this song and many others you can pick up on the allusions to his drug use and their effects on his life.  It’s a sad song when you delve into the lyrics but as it has happened on multiple occasions, it can turn into a group sing-a-long with your friends.  It’s a sad message about leaving your life behind and upon returning,  losing yourself and not being able to say how you feel to the person you love.
